Designed by Hans J. Wegner and initially produced by Erik Jorgensen, the Wegner Ox Chair is an iconic statement piece with an indisputable presence. A bold, sculptural chair that challenged the understated aesthetics of Danish design at the time, with its distinctive headrest referencing ox horns and its voluminous body. The Wegner Ox Chair demonstrates Wegner’s organic, artistic approach to furniture and desire to redefine traditional seating. For Wegner, a chair isn’t just a piece of furniture, but a work of art made to support the human form. The Ox Chair is arguably his most striking design, purportedly inspired by his fascination with Picasso's abstract paintings, claiming that design doesn't always have to be so "dreadfully serious". This beautiful chair is now produced by Fredericia.

Materials

Fully upholstered easy chair in fabric or leather. Inner frame of solid wood and moulded cold cured foam. Pads at neck and armrest includes piping, available in leather as contrast to fabric upholstery. Stainless steel base.
